Homeschooling 101
Getting Started with Homeschooling
This course was designed for parents and teachers interested in Homeschooling OR creating a Homeschool Co-Op.

Jumping into Homeschooling:
Understanding your child: Following the child based on their stage, age and development.
Creating a schedule: Based on the child and or children and what works for your family.
Connected and Creating: Creating homeschooling Co-ops and selecting relevant resources.
During this session we will delve into ways to create a schedule that works for the family while honouring and aiding your child’s development and strengths.
We will examine existing homeschooling plans to use as references, when creating you own.

Session Two:
Debunking Myths: Exploring the concept of ‘deschooling,’ starting the process and understanding what school looks like at home, following Montessori philosophy and unschooling principles.

This is the more theoretical element of home-schooling.
We will debunk some common myths and explore different approaches to schooling.
Session Three:
Preparing the home: To allow for independent learning and exploration to occur.
Creating a wholistic routine to get your children ready for life:
In the first session, we explored the different stages of development. In this session, we will explore how to use this in a practical way in order to understand your child and aid their learning.
Guide your child to success. Success in the sense of a ‘wholistic child’ who is independent, knows their strengths, and is growing not only academically, but in all aspects of life!
